A day in Tinos

And finally, the last instalment of my Greek Island Hop!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAHaving spent time in Athens and Mykonos our next stop was the beautiful small island of Tinos. Tinos is just a short 15 minute helicopter ride from Mykonos, it’s far smaller than it’s neighbour but still within the archipelago and therefore matching the stunning views that the heights of Mykonos had to offer.

We cop’tered our way over for just one evening and as we had little time on land we did our very best to try and explore as much as we could in the short amount of time we had. That being said, I could have quite easily relaxed for the entire day by the hotel’s gorgeous pool, judging by these snaps can you blame me?

We stayed at Aeolis Tinos Suites which was a really a cute little resort. It boasts this gorgeous stunning infinity pool and breathtaking views! The rooms are spacious and the location is perfect, you can simply relax by the pool or jump in a rental car or taxi to explore more of the island. There’s a few small beach clubs to enjoy if you are staying for longer, we chilled by one whilst waiting for our helicopter one day. It’s the perfect little getaway if  you are on the hunt for that perfect poolside snap 😉

After a quick dip in the pool, we travelled into the old town for a few hours as I was desperate to see more of that greek charm we experienced in Mykonos.

I have shared some more pictures of this sweet traditional town in a recent style diary here but it was basically that postured picture of what you would expect a small greek island town to be. Rustic blue and white architecture, small winding narrow streets and the perfect pop of pink bougainvillea growing through the crisp brickwork.

After an explore and meander through the town we headed back to the hotel for a yummy Folli Follie farewell dinner. I wish I could share more with you but this part of the trip was so short and sweet! If you are travelling to Mykonos and you fancy a day trip to somewhere far more secluded and traditional you can travel to Tinos for the pretty views and privacy. There are daily boat trips to and from the island so if you aren’t one to hop on a helicopter you can sail your way there instead 😉
