During the festive period I love keeping up with my favourite bloggers sites and channels. Whether it’s winter style inspiration I’m looking for, Christmas gift ideas or things to do during this season of glee, my girls on the web have got it all covered! One particular blog and youtube channel I have loved this season is In The Frow, written by Victoria Magrath. As a friend of E! I started following this cutie about a year ago and I have loved watching her style and business evolve so dramatically in these last 6 months. At the moment I am especially loving her ‘Get ready with me’ and ‘Frowmas’ posts. So I thought I’d take some inspiration from the gorgeous white haired beaut and create a ‘Get Ready With Me’ blog post 😉
As I work as a full time TV Presenter creating a youtube channel for Clutch & Carry-on would be too much of a conflict of interest so I will try my best to create the same idea with photo’s and a little chat 😉
So, the last evening I spent out was at the wonderful Baglioni Hotel in London. As most of you will know I am a big fan of this hotel and after enjoying their festive afternoon tea (read post here) I nipped back up to my lovely room to get ready for the evening.
I tend to wash and dry my hair first of all, I am using Aveda Damage Remedy Shampoo & Conditioner at the moment. (Funnily enough this was also a recommendation from Victoria – fan girl alert!). I will then apply my make-up whilst the heat settles. I’ll pop on my underwear and get started. The body I am wearing here is from Boux Avenue, I have had this for years but they still stock it (here) which is great, I love it when a company knows they have a winner! It’s so frustrating when lingere brands discontinue products. Especially if, like me, you struggle to find good fits.
Here’s what I used for this make-up look:
Laura Mercier primer & Illamasqua Skin Base applied with a damp beauty blender
Mac Pro Concealer under my eyes also dabbed in with a damp beauty blender.
Laura Mercier Contour Kit – Number 2 on my forehead, nose and chin. Number 3 under my cheekbones – all blended in with the Real Techniques Contour Brush.
Soap & Glory Peach Party on my cheeks for blush and above my cheek bone to highlight.
Sealed with the Laura Mercier loose powder.
On my eyes I’ve gone quite subtle as the dress is so attention grabbing! I’ve used one of my favourite eye palettes from Dior here and gone for the subtle colours with a touch of shimmer.
I’ve then created a slick flick with my Tom Ford Eye Defining pen.
I’ve then finished off the look with some Ardell natural lashes and Laura Mercier Creme Smooth Lip Colour in Dulce de Leche.
I’ll then style my hair with straighteners or heated rollers. For this look a little bit of both 😉 I’m using these straighteners from Cloud Nine at the moment, they are fab. I got these in a gift set so they also came with a gorgeous Emilio de la Morena carry case – bonus! (here)Then of course, it’s all about deciding what to wear………this is the bit that takes us some time hey girlies?
I ended up opting for this stuning low-back, floor length, fully embellished French Connection Dress (here).
I was choosing between these beauts though; a red lace Topshop mini (similar here), a super sparkly Missguided deep plunge shift dress (here), a bejewelled backless black dress from Zara, a laser cut silver River Island pencil skirt (similar here) and that Missguided dress I strutted in on Rodeo (here).
Both shoes are from Missguided. The black strappy courts are here, silver ankle strap heels are here.
Then it’s time for a spritz, my favourite scent of the moment in Armani Diamonds Violet (Read my review).
The Baglioni London is located so close to Kensington High Street you can almost hop, skip and jump there so it was a great place for me to start my night. There is also the added bonus of the staff being a dream, delicious drinks and nibbles and the bar being a stunning setting for those all important pre-night-out insta snaps 😉
I hope you guys enjoyed this post, it’s such a perfect time of year to share this with you. I also wanted to sneak in a christmassy post before heading off to the Sunshine!
