So first things first, skincare. I have two favourites for the month of June. One being the La Roche Posay, Effaclar Duo. This is an amazing anti-marks cream that I use morning and night. I love the consistency and the scent of the product and I have genuinely seen such a difference in my skin after using this every day for month. My skin looks brighter and much more even, I’ve also noticed my pores look less obvious – it’s an all round wonder product!
Another skincare product I’m loving right now is Kiehl’s ultra facial oil-free gel cream. This is essentially a moisturiser but it goes on like water. Honestly the most refreshing and light moisturiser I have ever used. As I’m having so many fake bake tans at the moment due to my travelling I needed an oil free moisturiser to prolong the tan without creating streaks. This was the only oil-free product I could find at the airport, so I snapped it up. I used it all over my body and loved it, it’s extra special as a facial moisturiser though because it’s so super light – I am now using it daily even when I don’t have a tan and I LOVE! It soaks in immediately and creates the perfect fresh base before applying make-up, I really feel as though my skin has had a good drink after I’ve applied it.
A product that also made it into the June favourites was the Urban Decay NAKED eye palette. This is actually an all time favourite of mine but it has never been mentioned on my blog thus far, shocking considering I used it every day!
This palette is perfect for natural smokey eyes, it has such a great mix of browns, caramels and mauves, some matte and some shimmery. Their blending and staying power is amazing. Sometimes when you opt for a palette it’s great for a compact make-up bag but the actual product isn’t that great – this is so not the case for the NAKED palette though. Even the brush that comes with the palette is great, it’s double ended and perfect for sweeping the crease of your lids or applying pigment into the corners of your eyes. If you are looking for an everyday eye palette that can also be used for evening looks I couldn’t recommend this enough.
Keeping on the eyes, for an extra added touch of sparkle I have recently got back into using my Chanel Illusion Dombre cream eyeshadow pots. The one I’m wearing here is the shade Illusoire and I simply use my fingers to apply this. The pigment is so high and the colours are exactly what they look like in the pot when applied to your lids which I really like. If you apply with a brush it creates a softer shade but still adds lots of shimmer, so they are quite versatile for a mini pot. These are actually quite fab for taking in your handbag during the day and glamming up your look in the evenings with just a few dabs of your finger 😉
Two other products I have been loving this last month is Benefit’s latest brow pencil, the precisely my brown pencil. Girls – this baby is an eyebrow saviour! It’s so fine so you can extend your brows or fill in any little gaps so easily. I have my brows tattooed on but every now and again I love to add some extra definition and this pencil is so great for that. It is waterproof and having just been away twice I can vouch for it’s staying power! I don’t think I’ll ever be without this product now.
Lip wise I am really enjoying NYX lip products lately. As NYX sponsor E! I have a lot of their products to try and chose from and I love their lip butters, lip lingeres & full throttle lipsticks. They all have such a creamy consistency and their staying power is great. I am leaning towards the burnt orange and pinky nude shades at the moment to compliment my tan and I also have some stand out shades such as grey, black and purple to try later down the line. They are now stocking NYX in boots so have a little nose next time you head in 😉That’s it for my June faves, let me know yours in the comment box below, I always love trying out new products!!
