When your outfit matches the scenery, you let your accessories do all the talking 😉
It’s official, Santorini is my favourite Catwalk!
I wanted to talk to you today about some of my favourite holiday accessories that help me when packing for short trips! These items have all been previously featured in style diary posts here on C&C and I managed to wear them all in one outfit on my recent trip to Greece. With that being snapped, I thought there was no better time to share my top travel picks with you 😉
I always try and pack a few bright accessories when I’m travelling as it’s rare that I get to wear my fun pieces in the city. This Furla Candy bag has long been a beach and poolside staple for me when travelling, it’s nice a roomy and the definition of splash proof! I love the mint green colour and bubble/croc effect too. I tend to shove my swimwear, towels and all my lotions in here then take a separate bag for my essentials and camera, that’s where my Prada baby saffiano bag steps in 😉 I bought this bag in Vegas with vouchers two years ago after winning a pool competition at Aria (random I know!!) and it has since always been my favourite vacation cross-body. Unfortunately this colour was a seasonal limited edition so I can’t link it for you guys but they do still make this particular style of bag in other colours. It’s one of those amazingly roomy mini bags, so much so that I call it my Mary Poppins bag 😉 I can fit my digital camera, phone, make-up & spare lens in the centre and then there’s also two zips either side that I put my money, keys and cards in. It’s honestly freaky how small it is considering what can fit in it, best prize I’ve ever won for fishing inflatable ducks in a pool! I have linked a couple of different colours and sizes, I would love to buy it in the medium size in grey for an everyday bag, the leather is lush and the quality is so good, one to add for the wish list for sure!
Then there’s these pom pom sandals which have already made a few appearances on C&C. I am still in LOVE! They are so comfortable and go with so much more than I anticipated when I first bought them. There’s enough leather to wrap them around your calf but I like wearing them lower down and letting the pom poms do all the talking 😉 If you are thinking about investing in a pair of these I’d say go for it, I always get so many compliments when wearing them and they are a fab day to night option if you aren’t a fan of packing heels. There’s some great dupes on the market too – these two options are both under £40: here & here. They always make me smile when I look down 😉 You know shoes that put a spring in your step?!
Moving on now to sunnies, these beauts are from ASOS and cost less than £20.00! I have a good collection of designer sunglasses and I love my Celines and Chanel shades but when I’m on holiday I prefer to take more affordable alternatives so that I don’t have to worry about losing them or damaging them in the pool etc. Regardless of price though I think a pair of Mirrored Aviators is my fave style of holiday specs, they can make the simplest of looks trendy and cool and they are the best lens for inconspicuous people watching 😉
Lastly, when on holiday, I’m not sure if you have noticed but I tend to wear my watch more. I have a beautiful diamond Longines Watch that my sister bought me for my wedding present 5 years ago. It’s one of my most treasured possessions but I don’t wear it as much as I should. In London I am always checking my phone to see the time but when I am abroad I love wearing a watch because my phone gets far less attention 😉 It’s also such a chic design that it finishes off every outfit so beautifully. I wear it on the plane out and never take it off during the trip. It’s waterproof so I even wear it in the pool and the sea. It’s a little holiday ritual 😉 I know that a lot of people chose to leave diamonds at home when travelling but I live in a big city so there’s just a high a chance of being robbed here! I also never take it off so I don’t have to worry about losing it or forgetting it, just as with my wedding rings it’s safest with me 😉 That being said if I am travelling with girlfriends on a more boozy escape everything stays at home!!
What are you favourite travel accessories? Items that make your holiday wardrobe? I’d love to hear yours, maybe it will inspire a newbie addition to mine 😉
