I feel like we need to have a chat, first of all, I’d like to start by thanking each and every one of your for stopping by. If you follow any of my social media channels, like any of my photos or you have ever taken the time to tweet me I am genuinely so grateful, happy and appreciative of you taking time out of you day to make me smile!
I have had quite the crazy last 6 months, starting my new job as The E! Host for UK & Ireland is my own personal Cinderella story. Presenting for E! has always been my dream job and my whole career has been about working towards that goal. I started this blog to promote myself as a presenter mainly and have a little bit of interaction with my viewers, working on shopping TV for 3 years really restricted my interaction with people as I was never able to talk about specific brands or what I was wearing on screen. When people used to text the show I would rarely be able to respond to questions and requests so I wanted to create a place to share my own personal interests and style diaries and be able to actually talk to you guys about what I wanted to talk about!
Two years on Clutch & Carry-on has now evolved, with me, as I continue to explore my own personal style and travel to more wonderful corners of the world. I’m lucky enough to have been able to post a travel article every Sunday for the last year and I have loved sharing my fashion and lifestyle tips and tricks. I am still, however, first and foremost a TV Presenter.
I am so content work wise and living my dream as the E! Host, since choosing what to study at university, my life’s direction, blood sweat tears and all has been about the end goal of working for E! and now that I have secured another year’s contract (whoop whoop!!!) I am honestly on cloud nine!! It does however mean that C&C has naturally had to take a back seat. I can’t get out and shoot as often as I would like and I also have a lot less free time than when I was working on Shopping TV – so it’s becoming increasingly difficult for me to keep up with my twice weekly style posts ;(
I also feel as though I am torn sometimes when it comes to my social media between blogger and presenter. I know that the moment I post a celebrity pic or behind the scenes shot I will lose followers. Those expecting to see a travel or fashion picture don’t want or expect to see a mic shoved in Hugh Jackman’s face, and I get that 😉 It doesn’t however change my opinion as to whether or not to share my candid filming moments with you because that’s me! My life and my shenanigans 😉
So in conclusion……(I fear I have rambled and made little sense!) I’m gonna just do me. I don’t refer to myself as a blogger, I never have in fact, I am a TV presenter who also blogs – and this will continue to be me for the foreseeable. No airs or graces, no sponsored posts, no product placement pics, just me doing my own thing and sharing the things I love with the world.
