aqua4Living in the best city of the world, London, I am always on the hunt for fab new restaurants and bars to check out and enjoy. My hubby and I go out at least once every week so I thought a date night feature would make quite a nice addition to my fashion and beauty shouts 🙂 Giving you Londoners some ‘going out’ inspiration and those of you reading from abroad a list of great places to visit when here!

This week we went to Aqua at The Shard, a relatively new restaurant that sits on the 32nd floor of the amazing new addition to London’s Skyline.

aqua25 Situated in London Bridge the building is super easy to get to, and as The Shard one of the tallest buildings in the world you are sure not to miss it!!

The restaurant itself has a really cool vibe, there is a large bar and a secluded restaurant section so it’s great for just drinks or a full dinner. It goes without saying that the views are amazing!!! The way this building has been designed is so clever because no matter where you are standing you can always check out the view. I have found in other high rise buildings that sometimes the view is only seen when you are close to a window so this is a big bonus in my eyes!

The drinks are fab; there is a wide selection of yummy cocktails or you can ask the willing waiters to make you one specifically (that’s what I did ;)) and the food………the food, is OH SO GOOD! So good that in all the excitement I only managed to take pictures of the desert! It’s a bistro style restaurant so a very precise and well put together menu, there are only 5 or 6 options for each the main and the starter and the ingredients are all very rich and playful. You need to be comfortable stepping outside of the norm when dining here so picky eaters beware! I had the pea and ham soup for starters and the duck for main, both were divine and presented in such a fabulous way – No photo’s so I’ll leave you to see when you visit 😉 I would go as far as saying the soup was the best soup I have ever had…..FYI.

If you notice we were there as the light was changing from day-night, which was it’s own gorgeous spectacle. It made it very difficult to take good photos as I needed a slow shutter speed to take in the light, but the ambiance of the changing picture of the night sky was beautiful. To see this change at the moment (August) book a table for 8pm. That way you get to see the exact same light change we did 🙂
