Sweet treats and Make-up, thank-you September, for letting me combine the two 😉

Happy Sunday guys! I post a travel article every week on this very day but I rarely explore London itself, so I thought, seeing as it’s the first week of the month and I usually talk about my beauty favourites I would quite simply combine the two 😉

So first things first, the setting, this little La Duree is one of my favourite spots for a sweet snack. There’s a couple of cute eateries from this french patisserie chain in London, one in Covent Garden, Harrods and Cornhill and then this one which is nestled in the Burlington Arcade near Green Park.

They have THE best macrons in the actual entire world and they also have a range of teas and yummy milkshakes as well as a few other pastries and both the interior and culinary astethics are stunning. I was introduced by a dear friend who lived in Paris (where the first restaurant was opened) roughly 7 years ago and since then I have had macaron cravings at least twice monthly which can only be satisfied with La Duree! I highly recommend these pretty sugar palaces for anyone with a sweet tooth or in any case for those of you that just love and appreciate a pretty picture 😉

Now moving on to my favourite beauty products from the past month, I always try to vary up my picks but this month there’s been so many great lip products that I just had to rave about!

I travelled to Barcelona for a few days and took the opportunity to snap up some newbies from @worlddutyfree including my first ever Tom Ford Lipstick. With the hefty price tag I have always steered clear of these lippies but travelling makes make-up shopping a little bit easier on the wallet 😉 So I decided to treat myself to not one but two Tom Ford lipsticks and I am pleased (though my bank balance is not!) to say that they really do live up to the hype. The collection of colours is stunning and I am in love with the consistency of the product, they glide on so well and feel packed with moisture. They also last well and look so incredible on. I went for two shades that were a little bit outside of the norm when it comes to my make-up. A deep cinnamon colour (Casino) and a fun coral shade (Sunset Boulevard). I went for some Autumnal colours with fashion month in mind and they both look great.

On the subject of lip products I am loving Sisley’s nude combo of the lip pencil and the phytolip gloss. I mentioned these two products on my snapchat and instagram recently – they are my new ultimate fave combo for a nude lip. So much so that the pencil is now half it’s size! I wore this combo for filming recently and so many of you complimented it, thanks 😀 The lip pencil is soft and buttery with great staying power and the gloss is the perfect amount of shine and moisture – as I have the nude shade I often wear it over my lipstick when filming and it looks so fab on screen.

Next up was a rather unexpected palette that was sent to me by the lovely team at GOSH. It’s a contour and highlight kit that is rocking my world right now. It’s called the Contour and Strobe kit and it’s £12.99 at Superdrug. The bronzer shade is really similar to hoola from benefit, it’s more of a brown tone rather than a cringe orange so it’s great for chiselling 😉

I also love the blush shade, it’s a really natural pink with a hint of shimmer it complements the bronzer so well. Then there is this stunning highlighter, it’s a unique lilac shade that I have never seen on the high street before – it has the most subtle shimmer so the light purple shade really pops on your cheekbone. I also place it directly under my brows to give them a little radiance boost.

The best thing about it is that they are all in one palette – I would actually have bought each individual item after trying them so for me, travelling as often as I do it has been such a treat to simply pack one palette rather than 3 individual products.

Finally on my favourites list today is the Aveda dry remedy oil. This stuff – OMG. I am in love. The smell is so lush I have actually used this on a number of occasions as a scent top up when I haven’t got my perfume on me. It’s an oil that can be applied to dry hair or damp hair but I personally take this little beaut out in my handbag with me (it’s so teeny and handy!) and use it to give my hair a gloss and to smooth out any dry fly-aways. It also helps finish my hair with a silky sheen after a blow dry.

I have used so many lovely Aveda products lately I am obsessed with the scents – they remind me so much of a spa and they are the most relaxing smells. I use the beautifying body moisturiser right before bed and it helps me drift off, it’s like a post massage slumber every night 🙂

Let me know if you liked this style of post for my beauty favourites, I think I may take the same route for September too if so 😀
