2020 was a year that took us all by surprise, it wasn’t easy for anyone and now for the UK and many other countries the situation stands with continued travel bans. If you are here reading my blog you too will no doubt be missing adventure! With the whole of the UK under a third lockdown it’s sadly not possible for me to travel any further than my local supermarket right now but there are no laws on where our imagination can wander 😉
Though the lure of walking along sandy beaches and gazing up at palm trees is appealing, it’s a city break that I’m mostly lusting for! So I thought for my first post of the new year I’d daydream with you about all of the locations and hotels I have on my 2021 travel wish list (as soon as it’s safe and legal to travel!). With the use of one of my favourite websites, hotels.com. *
London
Though our capital city is indeed my home, I have always loved ‘staycationing’ here. There are so many gorgeous hotels just walking distance from me and staying out for the night makes me feel so special and spoiled.
Hotel Cafe Royal
For the most quintessentially British stay I’d book straight in at Cafe Royal. Based perfectly in the heart of the city with everything on your doorstep the set up is great for exploring London and knowing you can reach everything on foot with precious five star luxuries awaiting your return.

Shangri La London
Based in London’s iconic Shard this hotel really is next level when it comes to having a wow-factor! The rooms are as modern as they some and can we just take some time to imagine taking a bath with THAT view?!

Paris
Last year was my first year in 10 that I didn’t make it on vacation to Paris. The City of love is always a good idea in my opinion, it’s such a wonderful place to indulge, be that with the delicious food or romantic architecture it always manages to uplift my soul. Plus, there’s the added comfort of knowing you can reach the city by train.
Hotel Plaza Athene
This picturesque plaza is a hotel of dreams! It’s a favourite for luxury travellers as the traditional rooms boast a dreamy french interiors and jaw-dropping balconies. Sipping champagne and biting into a warm croissant right here…..that’s bucket list worthy!

Ritz Paris
Who hasn’t dreamed of staying at the Ritz? The antique decor is divine and the setting in Paris is simply magical! The whole hotel grounds look like they’re fresh out of a fairy tale and after the year we’ve had, we all deserve to feel like royalty on our next vacation.Â

Munich
Third and finally a destination I’m dreaming of getting back to is Bavaria. I had planned a Germany road trip last summer and since it’s cancellation I’ve been left with a pinterest feed full of castles and lakes I’m just desperate to see in real life!Â
I travelled to Munich in 2019 during the winter and though we saw grey skies for the duration, I could tell the city was beautiful. I can’t wait to get back and see it in the sunshine!Â
Mandarin Oriental
It doesn’t get better than this when it comes to a city break, a rooftop pool, five star restaurants, traditional architecture and views for days. Do I also see barstools by the plunge? A room for two please 😀

Hotel Bayerischer Hof
Another luxury hotel in the stunning city of Munich and one where I can happily picture myself sipping my morning coffee on the balcony is Bayerischer Hof. The location is absolutely perfect for exploring on foot and the hotel has quite the reputation for excellence, not just in Munich but the whole of Germany.

Now all we need is the go ahead for safe travel! I can’t to make some more destination dreams come true even if they are just a few hours away 😀
