The Capri Palace Hotel

Calling your hotel a Palace can be quite a statement to live up to, however, when they treat you like royalty it all makes sense 😉Last month I had the pleasure of staying at the beautiful Capri Palace, a stunning 5 star resort & spa in Anacapri, just a short ride through the hills and up into the clouds of Capri, Italy.

For those of you who haven’t travelled to Capri before first things first – add it to your bucket list! Secondly know that this cute little island is one of the most adorable places I have ever visited in Europe. The Island is like an Italian St Tropez, exclusive and alluring, full of beautiful people, delicious food and streets packed with glamourous boutiques and designer stores.Sabrina Chakici - Clutch and Carry on - UK Fashion blogger & UK Travel Blogger - Capri Travel Blog - Capri Palace Hotel_-100The only option of getting to Capri is via boat (unless you hop in a helicopter!). We jumped on the ferry from Naples and were there in 40 mins. It’s a bit of a frenzy when you arrive at the port so keep your eyes and ears open to be able to jump in a cab. This Island is home to the coolest taxis in the world by the way, they are white jeeps with open sides and soft tops so you can enjoy the lovely warm weather and amazing views!

The Capri Palace is a 15 minute journey from the port and 10 minutes away from the centre of Capri. Situated in it’s own little hub of shops and restaurants in AnaCapri. The hotel is stunning, even upon entry you can see how well the design team have managed to make the hotel unique and special, every wall has a stunning piece of art work, the fixtures fittings and features all look as though they are fresh out of the Tate Modern and there is an overwhelming feeling of freshness that is just so refreshing after being outdoors in the heat.Sabrina Chakici - Clutch and Carry on - UK Fashion blogger & UK Travel Blogger - Capri Travel Blog - Capri Palace Hotel_-107

Sabrina Chakici - Clutch and Carry on - UK Fashion blogger & UK Travel Blogger - Capri Travel Blog - Capri Palace Hotel_-106We stayed in a standard room with a sea view which was beautifully decorated and fuss free. A fresh white room with chic Italian touches and lots of space. The best choice of interior to enjoy the beauty from the sun terrace that also acts as a balcony to the room. Equipped with two sun loungers, the obvious view and enough Ivy to get lost in 😉 The perfect spot to take in the beauty of Anacapri.Sabrina Chakici - Clutch and Carry on - UK Fashion blogger & UK Travel Blogger - Capri Travel Blog - Capri Palace Hotel_-131

Sabrina Chakici - Clutch and Carry on - UK Fashion blogger & UK Travel Blogger - Capri Travel Blog - Capri Palace Hotel_-129One of the best things about this hotel is the fact that it features a Michelin star restaurant that, in my opinion, serves one of the best breakfasts in Italy. There are countless spreads in the buffet including the usual continental delights and eggs are made to your liking and therefore cooked upon request.

The table that caught my eye every day was the ‘Bodysim’ layout, where I was spoilt for choice for healthy options. I actually made a yummy yoghurt parfait everyday as well as enjoying some scrambled egg whites – yep, I’m a girl who loves her breakfast 😉

There is a lovely pool outdoors surrounded by comfortable loungers and incredibly attentive staff – we had lunch here a few days during our stay and it was great to be able to eat amazing restaurant style food poolside 😉 The cocktails were also yummy!Sabrina Chakici - Clutch and Carry on - UK Fashion blogger & UK Travel Blogger - Capri Travel Blog - Capri Palace Hotel_-136

When you enter the hotel you walk past windows into the water. So naturally we had a little play 😉Sabrina Chakici - Clutch and Carry on - UK Fashion blogger & UK Travel Blogger - Capri Travel Blog - Capri Palace Hotel_-247

The hotel also features a world famous Spa. We decided to treat ourselves to a few hours there and I was recommend one of their signature spa packages; ‘Leg School’ which is an innovative treatment that helps you lose cm’s from your legs in the space of an hour. I have never had a treatment like this so it was quite an experience!

The first stage consists of the therapist covering your legs in mud (which is freezing cold) then after that has been on for 30 minutes they wash it off and wrap up your legs in cold bandages, they are then left again for roughly 20 minutes before the fun starts!

The spa has two specially designed pools. One is ice cold and one is near boiling. After the wraps are taken off you have to walk through both pools one after another. So one pool is freezing and one super hot – sounds easy right? relaxing?

Um, no, it’s actually rather painful! I had to hold back the screams when I was walking through the cold pool I am not going to lie! It was quite obviously good for you so that helped get me through, but man on man did I have to grit my teeth 😉

After the treatment I did think my legs looked a little firmer, we went on a  yacht tour the day after and I do thnk my legs looked nice and toned in the photos – I can’t say if it was 100% the treatment but it certainly gave me an extra boost of body confidence so either way I guess it worked 😉

The spa is really beautiful and I was lucky enough to enjoy my treatment outside, an option they are able to offer for most treatments. They also introduced me to liquorice tea – thank-you Capri Palace! This is now my new favourite tea 😉As the Hotel is based in the small town of Anacapri you have to travel to get to the beach. They provide a free shuttle service which is very comfortable and professional and it drops you right outside the infamous beach club Il Riccio. The only beach club I know of that has a Michelin star! This swanky Nikki beach style hangout is a great place to spend the day and enjoy the sea breeze – we didn’t have time to stay for the day but we did enjoy a lovely drink there before heading down to the infamous Blue Grotto (which is a stones throw away from Il Riccio). The hotel were aware of my stay and being as lovely as they are they wanted me to be able to see some of the more luxurious suites and rooms on offer at the resort.

Every suite is designed differently, with a alternative vibes, unique furniture and your own individual outside space. I was lucky enough to see a few different suites and they are all so beautifully designed! I can’t help but think this would be such an amazing choice of honeymoon hotel.

We were also given a tour of the presidential suite, which is so big it’s pretty much another hotel on it’s own! I have to admit I felt rather cool and important when wandering around the vast space 😉 Did you watch the tour on my snapchat?Sabrina Chakici - Clutch and Carry on - UK Fashion blogger & UK Travel Blogger - Capri Travel Blog - Capri Palace Hotel_-229As always on C&C I hope this post does all the talking with the photos 😉 The Capri Palace is easily one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in when it comes t0 hospitality, fine details and dining. With the added benefit of being just 10 minutes away from the beautiful Mediterranean it really does tick all the boxes for a great weekend away!

Want to know what else you can get up to in Capri? Stay tuned!!
