Last month I spent a few days in Florida’s trendiest city, Miami. It was my second time visiting the vibrant cultural destination famous for it’s Art Deco Architecture and it won’t be my last. I fell in lust on my first visit in 2013 and in love on my second! The glamorous city has something for everyone but on a personal note here’s five reasons why I am itching to get back as soon as possible!
1.The Beautiful Beaches
As most of you already know, I am always happiest by the sea!! Miami has one of the prettiest city front beaches in the world. The pretty palm lined beaches are super wide have the most amazing atmosphere, they are all public therefore often busy and filled with fun and friendly people. Travelling during high season is really vibrant with sporadic partys and events. You can also take to the waters by boat and enjoy the marine life in the area, dolphins are often spotted in the keys which is a short ride away from Miami’s centre.
2. Wynwood Walls
Miami’s famous graffiti town is one of my favourite ways to spend time in the City. Wynwood Walls is a mini district of colourful and impressive street art that is completely public and free to view. I’m not usually an art buff and don’t often enjoy spending time in galleries or museums when away but here you can grab a coffee and stroll through the colourful and diverse streets whilst enjoying the alternative displays without spending a penny.
3. Luxury Hotels
I’m a sucker for a great hotel when exploring the world and being one of America’s trendiest cities Miami’s hotels really do reflect how awesome the city is. Some of the most luxurious and fashionable hotels in the world are found here. The fabulously quirky Faena offers a unique and unforgettable stay and the beachfront Eden Roc Hotel allows guests to watch the sunrise over the pacific ocean from the comfort of your own room. Biltmore hotel also offers a charming stay and boasts a huge swimming pool, on-site golf course and stunning grounds. The Mandarin Oriental is also a great luxury option for those wanting to see another side of the city.
4. Vegetarian Dining
Being a vegetarian can be a tough game when travelling is such a big part of your life. There’s only so many margarita pizzas a girl can eat! To this day the best food I have eaten whilst abroad is in America’s trendy cities of Los Angeles and Miami, with Florida’s hotspot being the ultimate. My guess is that the health conscious cities are catering to the trendy eating habits of their residents which makes me very happy, having so many meat and fish free options to chose from is such a blessing! My best meals were eaten at La Mar restaurant in the Mandarin Oriental and The Matador at Miami Beach Edition Hotel.
5. My Girlie Memories

My first trip to Miami was 5 years ago and it was one of the funniest trips I have ever been on with three of my best girls, Aimee, Emma and my sister Samantha. It was terrible weather the whole time we were there so we just spent our evenings partying and days shopping, eating and attempting to ride a segway! The jokes from this trip still keep me silently giggling to myself today. Holidays with friends are such an essential part of my life. I travel every year with my besties and I wouldn’t be me without the memories I make on these ridiculously fun adventures. I have the best friends and travelling with them is something I never take for granted, Miami will definitely go down in history as one of our best!
I love Miami! Your girls holidays sound so fab, I love going away with my bests too x
