Ready for day two of our long weekend on the Amalfi Coast? So from Positano we jumped back on the yacht to travel on to Sorrento, another must see in Italy! A quick bikini change and another mid-sea dip later we arrived at the beautiful port.
Upon arrival you can either hop in a taxi up to the town or walk up the (quite long and steep) hill to enjoy the gorgeous views. It was so hot when we travelled that we rode in a taxi up and walked back down 😉
The town is so picturesque, honestly adorable! Similar to Positano as there’s a number of cute bars, delicious restaurants and sweet little clothing and jewellery boutiques. It’s much bigger than positano so there’s more architecture to be in awe of but there’s also the fact that here, you have to compete with the transport, watch out for the horse and carriages guys – they come out of nowhere!I could have happily wandered around the town for days but as we were on a tight schedule with the boat we only nipped in one to two boutiques. That was all I needed for a new outfit though 😉
I therefore can’t recommend any great places to eat or stay but if you just want to enjoy the vibrant colours and unique atmosphere of the town all you need is a few hours like we had.The shops and restaurants are very reasonably priced considering the novelty of the location, we indulged in some fabulous fresh juices and ice cream (again!) and just marvelled in the beauty of the cobbled streets, winding lanes and gorgeous buildings.
Then we hopped back on the boat to enjoy more of the big deep blue. Oh, did I mention I also bought a new bikini? 😉
The coast line of Italy is so beautiful, I think it’s so easy to forget how stunning our neighbouring coasts are. I’m fortunate enough to have travelled to many far and away places but across the globe there really is no sea like the Mediterranean. It’s that crisp cobalt blue that gets me every time!
We had so much fun exploring and the great thing about travelling on a private yacht is the fact you can stop off anywhere and jump off into the ocean 😀
If you are travelling to the Amalfi Coast I couldn’t recommend this tour enough! My advice would be to book a boat  for an early morning pick-up, head to Positano (read my review post here) then Sorrento then on to Capri for the infamous blue grotto.
I’ll be taking you back to Capri tomorrow so see you there! x
Stunning photos as always, I have always wanted to travel here. I love that triangl bikini too! X
Thank-you Lottie xxx
Wonderful landscape ! Wonderful land !
“Do you know the land where the lemon-trees grow,
in darkened leaves the gold-oranges glow,
a soft wind blows from the pure blue sky,
the myrtle stands mute, and the bay-tree high?
Do you know it well?
It’s there I’d be gone,
to be there with you, O, my beloved one…”
